It all starts with an old case: Martin Zander and Anna Winkler are asked to tackle the Noureddine Diouris file again. The Moroccan-born dealer was shot on the street a good year and a half ago, and the killer was never caught – presumably because a mole sabotaged the investigation.
No one knows that Noureddine’s younger brother Rafi has joined a group of religious fanatics: the boy is a ticking time bomb.
When the bomb does explode, it is the political party Die Freiheitlichen that stands to benefit. PR expert Moritz Lemke and the recently-elected chairwoman Carola Ott-Petersen had had trouble making people forget the party’s radical right-wing past. Now they have solid arguments for condemning excessive tolerance against Muslims: passages in the Koran are used to justify crimes against the western world. The threat is real – even in Germany.
While Moritz increasingly comes to believe his own claims, Carola begins to have her doubts: who is actually controlling the party?
