Private detective Markus Waldo has had enough – of East Germany, of Halle, of his non-existent private life and of his profession. His more recent job seems unlikely to alter this state of affairs: Waldo is hired to find a rabbit kidnapper. Rabbit breeder Schönlein has lost Henri, Sascha and four other animals over the past three weeks.
Schönlein believes a competitor is behind it all. But when Waldo goes on the lookout, it is someone else he discovers. Then an Australorps disappears from the neighboring chicken farm – the case has gained a new dimension, and Waldo soon has many more reasons to bemoan his fate ...
