Hagemann & Stitz are Karola Hagemann and Ilka Stitz. Karola Hagemann was born in 1961 and lives in Hanover. She studied history and English and works for the Lower Saxony Criminal Investigation Department as a continuing education expert. Ilka Stitz was born in 1960, studied art history, German and classical archaeology and works in Cologne as a freelance journalist and writer. Together the two have published a number of historical novels under the pseudonym Malachy Hyde.
